This policy applies to the Goodbye Heat website (https://www.goodbyeheat.com), a work of fiction that is part of the Crime at Home® game.

2. What Data We Process (and What We Don't)

This site has no contact forms, sign-up, comments, or online store. We don't ask for your name, email, or any other personal details to browse it.

As with any HTTP connection, the servers that host this site may record technical details of each request (for example, IP address in server logs, date and time, requested URL, and user agent). These logs are used for security and to keep the service running, not to build marketing profiles.

3. Analytics (Umami, No Cookies)

We use Umami, self-hosted on the owner's own server (analytics.boljoro.be), not a third-party analytics service. The script loads from https://analytics.boljoro.be/script.js.

How this setup is configured and what it covers:

  • No analytics cookies: the tracker does not set any cookies on your device.
  • No local storage for tracking: no visitor ID is saved in localStorage or sessionStorage to build a browsing history. The Umami script can only read the opt-out key umami.disabled, if you have created it to opt out of being counted.
  • No IP addresses stored in the analytics.
  • Only aggregated, anonymized statistics (page views, approximate location of the visit, browser language, screen size). No individual profile is built.
  • No data is shared with third parties for analytics: the counts stay on the owner's server.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the site is used overall so we can maintain and improve it. This interest does not override your rights, because no one is identified and no tracking cookies are used.

4. Cookies (and Why There's No Banner)

This site does not use cookies (first-party or third-party) to work or to measure traffic. That's why there is no cookie banner: there's no consent choice to make in order to browse.

If we ever add a cookie that is not exempt, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.

5. Recipients and Transfers

We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for analytics or advertising. The site is hosted by a web hosting provider, with a backup on the owner's own server, and Umami analytics runs on the owner's own server, under the owner's control. No international transfer of analytics data to outside providers is planned.

6. Data Retention

Aggregated Umami statistics are kept for as long as they are useful for site statistics. Technical server logs are kept for as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted or rotated following standard system administration practice.

7. Your Rights

Where applicable, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, and data portability, and you can withdraw any consent you have given (this site does not ask for consent for cookies).

To exercise them, email [email protected] stating which right you want to exercise and how we can contact you. If your request concerns data we do not hold in a way that can identify you (for example, an anonymous page visit), we will let you know.

8. Right to Complain to a Supervisory Authority

If you believe your data is not being processed in line with the law, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD): https://www.aepd.es.

9. Updates to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or the law. The current version is the one published at this URL.
